Registering your Polare controller

This article is for:
Info
All Polare products

Download the app

Your Polare controller is registered using our app, available on both iOS and Android. Click on either the Apple App Store or Google Play badge for links to those stores, or click here for QR codes.

Your product box also has a QR code on it which you can scan to get the app directly.

Create a Polare account

Once you have downloaded and installed the app, please create a Polare account. If you have already created a Polare account on our website (www.polare.ai) you can log in with that account.

We need an account to hold information about your location, property, room(s) and controller(s) which are essential to our service operating.

Notes
We need an account to hold information about your location, property, room(s) and controller(s) which are essential to our service operating.
You can see our Privacy Policy for more about what information we collect and why.

If you already have a Polare account, just sign in with your existing details when opening the app.

Register your Controller

If this is your first time logging in to the app, you will only have three options:
  1. Connect a Controller
  2. Set up My Properties ( )
  3. View Account information ( )
If you already have a Controller, we recommend you select Connect a Controller to go through first time setup and complete all the information you need to get started.

Read QR code
This requires you to give camera permissions on your phone. We only use the camera to read this QR code, so you can give temporary permissions if you prefer.

Use your camera's phone to read the QR code on the back of your Controller (note: not the one on the box). This provides the controller ID and information required to start registration.
Plug Controller into wall socket
Plug your Controller into the wall socket (power socket) you intend to use it with during normal operation. After a few seconds, you should see the lights on the Controller.
Long press power button
The power button is in the middle of the Controller below the Polare logo. It is a touch button. Press and hold this button for at least 5 seconds, until you see the WiFi light (the light at the bottom left of the Controller) start to flash rapidly.
Connect to WiFi
This requires Bluetooth and connection permissions. We use these to communicate with your Controller and our servers.

Select the WiFi network you want to connect your Controller to (if you have more than one, use the one you plan to use in normal operation - it must have coverage at the wall socket you will use the Controller with) and follow the instructions to connect to WiFi.
Controller will connect to servers
The Controller should now connect to our servers, and you will see a success screen.

From this screen, if this is your first time setting up a Polare Controller, you can also continue to Setup your Property and other information that is required for our service to work.
